Inspector Joe is back in Italy! But, this time it’s Tino and Tano who are coming back for a short but intense tour.
From 5 to 7 November 2024, the Slovenian author Majda Koren is between Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto to take the characters of the comic book series “L’ispettore joe” illustrated by Damijan Stepančič to the bookstore and school and to present the new “Tino and Tano alla riscossa”. To accompany her in the meetings and to put themselves into play as an interpreter, her translator Martina Clerici.
The comic series
Inspector Joe is a detective comic book from Slovenia, funny and intelligent, perfect for first reading. The protagonists are an inspector dog, with exceptional flair, to deal with two hardened thieves: pigs Tino and Tano, who do not miss the opportunity to implement their shady plans (which include especially “scorpacciate”). The first book was well received by booksellers and the public, and reached the final in the prestigious Andersen 2024 Prize in the comic book category. It has just arrived in Italy, also on the occasion of the important appointment of Lucca Comics & Games, the second title of the series, “Tino e Tano alla riscossa”.
Majda Koren is a writer and elementary school teacher. He also works with the youth programme section of Radiotelevizija Slovenija, the national broadcaster in Slovenia. In the catalogue, Sinnos is the author of two volumes of Inspector Joe, illustrated by Damijan Stepančič and soon a new book, which will arrive in spring 2025, on stories and food. His production for children and young people is numerous and has received several important awards in Slovenia.
